SPYRT Releases Vodka With Packaging Made From Howitzer Shells

On February 22, 2022, Russia launched a full-scale invasion of neighboring Ukraine. Despite aiming for a quick victory, Ukrainian forces successfully pushed back Russian forces in the north, saving the capital, Kyiv, from capture. However, fighting continues, especially to the south and east.

SPYRT Worldwide, a US and Ukrainian veteran-owned importer of wines and spirits, has recently announced the release of Ukrainian Spirit Limited Howitzer Edition, a vodka made with water from Volyn springwater and wheat grown from the western steppes of Ukraine. The WSWA 2025 tasting competition double-gold-winning vodka is produced using a patented “Pentagonal” process and a 10-day resting period.

Packaging for the 3L Ukrainian Spirit lives up to the “Howitzer Edition” name in a big way. SPYRT uses spent M119A2 cartridges from the conflict, collected from Ukrainian military personnel. The howitzer shells are then refurbished for their new use, removing dents and wrapping them in olive-drab Italian leather. The bottle label is also made from leather and is secured with metal fasteners.
