People Are Turning Pringles Packaging Into Cool Stuff and We’re Here For It

One of Pringles’ most distinguishing features is its packaging.

Most potato chips come in bags, but Pringles come in a rigid cylinder out of necessity. Pringles chips aren’t made from sliced potatoes. Instead, they’re formed from potato scratch and other ingredients, which makes them more fragile than your standard-issue chip.

The rigid tubular packaging has also inspired a bevy of DIY projects. Pringles’ cylinders have more utility than a conventional snack bag thanks to their thick cardboard-meets-aluminum construction (the tube’s multi-material nature also makes it highly unrecyclable). It’s as if the packaging is screaming out to be the base of a crafts project.
