Power Adhesives introduces hot melt adhesive for carton closing

Power Adhesives has introduced Tecbond 114, a hot melt adhesive formulated for uncoated cardboard and intended for use in carton closing, tray assembly, and packaging inserts.

According to the company’s statement, customer feedback influenced the development of Tecbond 114, which is aimed at helping businesses cut costs per carton closure without sacrificing speed or bond strength.

The adhesive is available in 12mm, 15mm, and 43mm formats and is designed for use with Tec hot melt applicators.

Recent additions to the Tecbond range also include several biodegradable adhesives for the packaging sector.

Last month, Power Adhesives launched Tecbond 902B-PL and two versions of Tecbond 351B-PR, which join earlier biodegradable options Tecbond 214B and Tecbond 110B-PR.

All biodegradable products in the range conform to EN 13432 and ASTM D6400 standards, meaning they break down fully under industrial composting conditions without producing microplastics or harmful residues.

The adhesives have also been approved by the CHIRA assessment for compatibility with paper recycling processes.

The Tecbond adhesives are specified for use in high-speed packaging operations and precision manufacturing, bonding to a variety of substrates.

The latest addition, Tecbond 114, extends the company’s offering for packaging applications.

Power Adhesives commercial director Alex Zulewski commented: “Tecbond 114 is a great addition to our range of hot melts for packaging. As a customer-focused manufacturer, we’ve listened to the market and created a great cost-effective option, while still delivering strength and performance.

“We’re proud to be able to offer such a comprehensive range that caters for all customers, including good quality products that are keenly priced for the packaging market, next to cutting-edge biodegradable hot melts for packaging.”

In 2024, Power Adhesives launched Tecbond 2014B, a biodegradable hot melt adhesive designed for cartons, corrugated packaging, point-of-sale displays, and contract packing businesses.
