Swedish Students Break Months-Old World’s Smallest Beer Bottle Record

  • A student team from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden, has broken the record for the world’s smallest beer bottle, completing a challenge from brewer Carlsberg.
  • The new record-holding bottle is one-third smaller than the previous smallest bottle, and holds only 0.00001057 centiliters of fluid.

Who knew the race for the world’s smallest beer bottle could be so exciting?

Last October, miniature artist Åsa Strand, Research Institutes of Sweden (RISE), glassblower Glaskomponent, and Carlsberg collaborated to make the world’s smallest beer bottle, about the size of a rice grain. The fully functional bottle was filled with non-alcoholic liquid and was meant to inspire responsible drinking.
