Polymer Packaging Inc. Announces Retirement of President Dan Wish

Polymer Packaging, Inc. has announced the retirement of President Dan Wish, effective April 1, along with two executive promotions supporting continued growth across its flexible and bakery packaging operations.

Wish retires following a 35-year career in distribution and manufacturing. He joined Polymer Packaging through the company’s 2023 acquisition of William-Allen Co., where he held a senior leadership role. During his tenure, Wish played a key role in integrating the businesses and strengthening the company’s position in bakery and flexible packaging markets.

“Dan’s leadership and industry experience were instrumental during a pivotal period of growth for our company,” said Larry Lanham, CEO and owner. “We appreciate his contributions and wish him the very best in his retirement.”

As part of the leadership transition, the company announced the following promotions:

John Rathje has been promoted to Vice President of Sales – Flexibles. Rathje joined Polymer Packaging in 2020 with a primary focus on film and pouch sales. Going forward he will be responsible for growing the food, beverage, industrial, automotive and shipping packaging offerings to both current and new customers. He holds an M.B.A. in Marketing from Miami University and previously spent 10 years with Givaudan Flavors, where he developed experience in customer-driven product solutions and strategic account growth.

Andrew Nutial has been promoted to Vice President of Sales – Bakery. Nutial joined Polymer Packaging in 2023 through the William-Allen Co. acquisition. He is a graduate of the University of Mount Union and earned an M.B.A. from the University of Cincinnati. In his expanded role, he will focus on advancing bakery film technologies, including structures that deliver extended shelf life, enhanced product clarity, and downgauging opportunities without sacrificing performance.

“The new leadership team ensures we have the right sales structure in place to support both our flexible and bakery businesses and position them for continued success,” Lanham said. “John and Andrew bring exceptional leadership, strong customer and vendor relationships and a clear commitment to growth. I am confident they will lead their teams – and our organization – to new levels of performance.”

Founded in 1986, Polymer Packaging has grown into one of the nation’s leading flexible packaging suppliers serving the food, medical, pharmaceutical, automotive and industrial markets throughout the United States. The company is headquartered at 9239 Akcan Circle NW in North Canton, Ohio, and operates manufacturing facilities in Allendale, Michigan.
