This follows earlier Mark Andy installations over 20 years, including a 10in Mark Andy 2200 and two 13in presses from the Performance Series.

Code-It was founded in 2000 and started making labels in 2002. Its managing director Phil Barker linked the business’s equipment choices to input from Mark Andy UK.

Over time, the business has moved from six to eight UV-cured colours as web widths increased.

Code-It owner and managing director Phil Barker said: “With the ease and speed of makeready on a modern flexo press, we can handle all but the shortest of runs economically. The auto-register on the new Performance Series P7 is a great example of how Mark Andy has developed and refined its technology over the years to make life easier for the operator.”

The company currently operates from 10,000ft² across five units and employs 16 people.

The P7 is an eight-colour, servo-driven press. Its specification includes delam/relam, turn bars, laminating and dual rewind, alongside UV curing and a Chill Pack for running unsupported film.

Mark Andy UK sales manager Antony Cotton commented: “Although the Performance Series P7 takes Code-It into a new web width, all its Mark Andy presses are compatible in terms of operation.

“Having different web widths is ideal for the range of products it manufactures, including the volume of peel & reveal labels that is showing increased demand.  The company’s investment policy has given it the best of both worlds.”
