The component combines a valve with a retaining ring and is designed to dispense contents after opening and reliably shuts upon release to minimise mess.

The SqueezeNSip Spout can be used across multiple pouch types and is intended for drinks and other low-viscosity products, including drinkable yoghurt, fruit juices and smoothies.

The companies said the format is lightweight and suited to portable use by adults and children.

It dispenses product only when pressure is applied.

They also said pouches fitted with the SqueezeNSip spout use up to 60% less material than rigid plastic bottles.

SureSnap consists of an elastomeric valve and a polyolefin retaining ring. The product comes in different sizes, opening pressures and flow rates.

Aptar Closures North America sales manager Jordan Kinsler said: “We are excited to partner with Cheer Pack North America to expand our SureSnap technology further into the spouted pouch market.

“We are confident that our valve will elevate product dispensing experiences for customers of all ages by providing superior cleanliness and functionality.”

The technology works with the three closure types used for the SqueezeNSip Spout: ClassicCap, Vizi cap and CheerValue simple cap.

The companies added that SureSnap valves are phthalate- and BPA-free and made from food-grade materials.

Aptar Closures and Cheer Pack have worked together on pouch, spout and valve systems for the past ten years.

Cheer Pack North America marketing vice-president Al Madonna commented: “We are proud of our long-term relationship with Aptar.

“By aligning Aptar’s dispensing valve technological leadership with our SqueezeNSip flow-control spouted pouch innovation, we are thrilled to help beverage brand owners expand usage occasions and deliver an enhanced consumer experience through a lightweight, fun and convenient packaging solution.”
