UPM Adhesive Materials has introduced a portfolio of label materials intended to work with recycling processes for packaging.
The new UPM ProCycle range combines adhesive systems with products described as circular, with the aim of giving converters and packaging brand owners a clearer set of options for labels with recognised recyclability credentials.

The range currently covers materials for rigid polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) packs used in drinks, food, and home and personal care products.
UPM said the adhesive technologies in the portfolio, including wash-off options, are made to allow labels and related materials to detach during mechanical recycling stages such as washing and grinding.
The label products are designed to provide stable adhesion, support conversion processes, and maintain print quality on plastic, fibre and glass packaging.
The offerings in the portfolio have external recognition for recycling compatibility across different packaging formats and markets.
It added that independent testing is used to confirm particular label functions, including clean release.
The range is expected to broaden over time with further adhesive technologies and label products as packaging requirements develop.

In March, UPM Adhesive Materials revealed plans to widen its operations in India through a new slitting and distribution terminal near New Delhi.
The site is due to begin operating in the third quarter of 2026 and is intended to improve service for customers in Northern and Eastern India.
