Aptar has developed a reloadable airless pack for Clarins Total Eye Lift Eye Cream to support product protection, dosing accuracy and user handling.
According to the companies, buying a refill reduces the packaging material impact by 73% versus the previous Total Eye Lift pack, reflecting 50% less metal, 33% less plastic and 29% less cardboard in the component.

The format is based on Aptar Beauty’s patented Gaïa reloadable airless system, paired with an outer pack for Clarins.
Created for Clarins Total Eye Lift, the pack uses a metal outer shell and plastic refills.
The design aims to decrease material use while retaining the appearance and feel associated with the product category.
Aptar said the pack is covered by two patents: one relates to a push-and-pull refill mechanism modelled on a ballpoint pen, and the other covers a double tamper seal system to improve product protection and reduce contamination risk.
Aptar Beauty global marketing and innovation vice-president Xavier Joseph said: “These recognitions highlight the strength of our partnership with Clarins and our shared commitment to pushing the boundaries of packaging innovation.
“This project showcases how custom‑engineered, high‑performance solutions can deliver both sustainability features and premium value for our customers.”
Last month, Aptar expanded its packaging portfolio by launching a new line of inverted lidless dispensing closures tailored for the beauty and personal care sectors.
The design aims to streamline the consumer experience by eliminating the need for traditional separate lids.
