The product is intended to protect metal components from corrosion, vibration and impact during transport and storage.
The material is produced from renewable Kraft paper and is recyclable and repulpable.
It is positioned as a paper-based substitute for foam, plastic and wood packaging.
According to the announcement, the wrap can replace some internal crate cushioning and may reduce or remove the need for foam, blocking and bracing in shipments of heavy equipment.
The material does not require tooling for application and can be used in automated packing configurations, including robotic wrapping systems from HexcelCrate that can be adjusted for different equipment.
They said the wrap forms a barrier that combines physical protection with corrosion control while supporting faster packing and crating processes.
The product can serve as wrap, void-fill and side-impact protection in one material, providing a paper option in place of custom packaging.
It is designed to fit irregular shapes and fill empty space without extra materials, which they said can help reduce packing time and overall packaging volume across packing lines.
The inclusion of ARMOR’s VCI technology provides corrosion protection for ferrous and nonferrous metals, removing the need for oils or secondary treatments, according to the announcement.
