The Beer BioCups are crafted from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)-certified paper and coated with plant-based bioplastic, ensuring compliance with single-use plastic bans across Australia.

This departure from fossil fuel-derived plastics aligns with BioPak’s commitment to reducing environmental impact.

“We consulted with our partners who received feedback from their punters about missing the visual appeal of drinking beer from traditional cups. This is a small change to our existing Cold BioCup that will make a big difference when savouring ice-cold beer at an event,” said Trevor Rumble, BioPak’s Product & Innovations director.

“BioPak’s commitment to sustainability extends beyond the development of compostable products. We are dedicated to educating consumers and businesses about the importance of reducing single-use plastics and transitioning to compostable alternatives.

“By offering Beer BioCups, we hope to empower venues and event organisers to make a positive impact on the environment without compromising on the experience of enjoying a refreshing beverage,” Rumble continued.

Beyond the product itself, BioPak says it is dedicated to fostering a circular economy.

Through partnerships with organisations such as Compost Connect, the company aims to divert Beer BioCups from landfills and turn them into nutrient-rich compost.

The availability of Beer BioCups in 420ml and 600ml sizes offers event organisers a convenient and sustainable option for serving beverages.

By choosing these cups, businesses can contribute to a cleaner and healthier planet without compromising on the consumer experience.
