Schubert’s robotic solution boosts Sweet Candy Company’s production

Sweet Candy Company, a renowned US confectioner, has turned to Schubert’s robotic pick-and-place solution to meet the surging demand for its popular chocolate jelly sticks.

Sweet Candy’s legacy, dating back to 1892, is rooted in a passion for creating delicious treats that have stood the test of time.

To keep up with the increasing popularity of its products, Sweet Candy sought a more efficient packaging solution.

Its existing semiautomated equipment couldn’t handle the growing production volume, despite being serviceable.

Schubert’s robotic Pickerline offers the flexibility and scalability needed to streamline operations and increase throughput for the company.

The Pickerline automates the packaging process, handling tasks such as pre-grouping products, placing wax paper, and loading and closing boxes.

This not only reduces labour costs but also ensures consistent quality and accuracy.

The system’s ability to adjust the product count on the go is particularly valuable for Sweet Candy, as its products are sold by weight rather than by count.

“We turned to Schubert for a robotic solution that solved our labour equation and also allowed us to make that change in throughput,” said Geoff Dzuida, vice-president at Sweet Candy Operations.

“By opting to automate their packaging processes, the confectioner is now able to take on another level of flexibility and product availability to succeed in fulfilling the demands of their continuously growing customer base,” added Armin Klotz, sales account manager at Schubert.

By investing in this advanced technology, Sweet Candy has positioned itself for continued growth and success in the competitive confectionery market.
