Syntegon has announced its acquisition of Telstar, which will expand its pharmaceutical processing and packaging business.
Barcelona, Spain-based Telstar, part of the Japanese Azbil Corp., is a manufacturer and supplier of equipment for the global life and health science industries. With a workforce of around 900 employees; production plants in Spain, China, and the UK; as well as engineering, sales, and service offices all over the world, Telstar is a significant addition to Syntegon’s portfolio for liquid pharmaceutical processing. Further growth opportunities will also arise for Telstar as part of the Syntegon Group. Syntegon and Azbil have signed an agreement to not disclose any financial details. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval.

With the expanded portfolio, Syntegon will be in an even better position to offer both pharmaceutical manufacturers and CMOs seamless line solutions from a single source. Additionally, the company’s service network will be expanded significantly by the Telstar service engineers, adding geographical coverage, proximity, and application expertise.
