UFP Packaging opens new DDC in Georgia

Full-service packaging solutions provider UFP Packaging has inaugurated its new packaging Design and Development Center (DDC) in Newnan, Georgia, US.

Spanning 10,000ft², the centre is designed to enhance customer engagement and foster innovation in packaging design.

The DDC has customer-centric spaces that encourage collaborative efforts towards innovative packaging solutions. The facility includes a state-of-the-art prototyping shop and an International Safe Transit Association (ISTA)-certified testing laboratory.

Clients are invited to participate in lab testing, design reviews, and hands-on development, offering an interactive experience that integrates them into the design process.

The DDC will prioritise sustainable practices by improving design efficiency, thereby reducing costs for customers.

This is achieved by reducing material waste and enhancing product protection throughout the supply chain.

PalletOne, a part of UFP Packaging, will utilise the centre to conduct unit load design classes and to refine pallet solutions through its Pallet Concierge service.

UFP Industries Structural Packaging executive vice-president J F Granger said: “Many of our customers have unique products that require more than an off-the-shelf packaging solution.

“Our new design centre will enhance our service capabilities, protect their products through rigorous testing and help our customers keep their customers happy.”

The facility’s strategic location allows UFP Packaging to provide improved customer service and enhance product quality for customers across the US.

In March this year, UFP Packaging expanded its Warrens, Wisconsin, plant with an 11,840ft² production facility and a 2,400ft² break room, totalling 40,000ft².
