Lowtemp Industries launches cannabis concentrate packaging technology

US-based tool manufacturer Lowtemp Industries has unveiled a technology, dubbed the Lowtemp Concentrate Dispenser (LCD), which is poised to transform the legal cannabis and hemp processing industry.

The machine, which does not require heat or pressurised gases, can dispense between 400 to 1,000 shots per hour, with each shot ranging from 0.5g to 5g with a single operator.

The LCD is designed to significantly reduce labour costs while increasing packaging outputs for grammed concentrates by more than 800%.

The company claims that the machine can preserve the delicate cannabinoids and terpenes of concentrates, which customers need with a dispensing accuracy of within 1%, more than double the precision of manual packaging technicians, claims the company.

It is compatible with various textures of rosin and live resin, including cold cure, fresh press, jams, and sauces.

The machine’s full-colour touchscreen interface allows for easy operation, requiring no special training for entry-level staff.

The LCD is available with prices starting at approximately $40,000. It removes the packaging bottleneck in both solvent-based and solventless concentrate manufacturing while preserving the essence of the dababble stock-keeping units.

Founded in 2015, Lowtemp Industries creates US-made solventless extraction solutions.

Lowtemp Industries is also expanding its reach to solvent-based operators at a time when market competition is intensifying. The cost of packaging extracts is often underestimated, leading to significant profit loss for many processors.

According to the company, with the average lab technician’s annual cost at around $52,000 and overfilling leading to substantial product loss, the LCD offers a rapid return on investment, potentially within as little as three months.
