Fagron acquires Brazilian plastic packaging producer Injeplast

Fagron, a leader in pharmaceutical compounding, has expanded its global footprint by acquiring Injeplast, a plastic packaging producer based in São Paulo, Brazil.

The strategic move aligns with Fagron’s Essentials strategy, aimed at broadening its product offerings and customer base in the South American market.

Injeplast, known for its good manufacturing practice-certified, vertically integrated production, contributes low double-digit annual revenue through its efficient packaging solutions.

This move is part of a larger expansion as Fagron has also announced the acquisition of CareFirst Specialty Pharmacy in North America.

CareFirst, a 503A pharmaceutical compounder located in New Jersey, US, specialises in the health and wellness sector.

The combined enterprise value of Injeplast and CareFirst Specialty Pharmacy is approximately €30m ($31m).

These deals are fully financed through Fagron’s resources and are pending customary clearances.

Fagron CEO Rafael Padilla said: “We are incredibly pleased to announce these two acquisitions, which reflect our disciplined and strategic growth approach.

“The acquisition of CareFirst allows us to meet the increasing demand in the prevention and lifestyle segments, reinforcing our leadership in North America.

“Similarly, the addition of Injeplast will strengthen our market positioning in Latin America by broadening our product portfolio and expanding our customer base. Both businesses align with Fagron’s Group margin, and we expect to integrate them over the next 18 to 24 months.”
