Pactiv Evergreen’s moulded fibre egg packaging receives FSC certification

US-based food packaging manufacturer Pactiv Evergreen has earned certification from the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) for its moulded fibre egg cartons and filler flats, which are made entirely from recycled materials.

The FSC certification, linked to Pactiv Evergreen’s FSC C125335 license, covers all moulded fibre egg packaging produced at the company’s facilities in Macon, Georgia; City of Industry, California; Moorhead, Minnesota; and Chihuahua, Mexico.

This achievement underscores the company’s efforts in sustainable practices and its goal of ‘Packaging a Better Future’ by conserving natural resources.

The company’s moulded fibre products are a blend of fibres, offering a renewable packaging option for customers.

Pactiv Evergreen Food and Beverage Merchandising president Eric Wulf said: “The FSC label is a trusted mark for sustainable forestry.

“Our FSC Recycled certification assures customers that our moulded fibre egg packaging is made from 100% recycled materials and reinforces our commitment to producing innovative, quality packaging while reducing the environmental impact.”

In addition to moulded fibre, Pactiv Evergreen provides a wide array of packaging materials such as aluminium, paper, and various types of plastics such as crystalline polyethylene terephthalate, crystalised polylactic acid, high-impact polystyrene (HIPS), and oriented polystyrene.

In August 2024, Pactiv Evergreen introduced its new Recycleware reduced-density polypropylene meat trays. These trays are designed as an eco-friendly alternative to foam PS, targeting packer processors in the industry.

The company plans to showcase its FSC-certified moulded fibre egg packaging at the International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE) in Atlanta, US, from 28-30 January 2025.
