Ranpak collaborates with Rabot to enhance AI-driven packaging solutions

Ranpak Holdings, a global provider of sustainable paper-based packaging solutions, has partnered with Rabot, a company specialising in vision AI technology.

Under the terms of the exclusive agreement, Ranpak will introduce Rabot’s AI technology to its worldwide customer base, with an initial accelerated rollout in North America.

The collaboration is expected to provide Ranpak’s customers with advanced insights to help optimise their operations, improve labour efficiency, and reduce material waste by up to 60%.

Rabot’s vision AI-based platform is said to have been designed to streamline the packing process by providing visibility into warehouse operations.

Its AI camera system collects and analyses data at manual packing stations, offering actionable insights via a subscription-based software platform.

This technology from Rabot will complement Ranpak’s existing suite of AI-powered packaging solutions.

This includes Ranpak’s DecisionTower quality assurance machine, the FillPak Trident automated precision void fill machine, and a partnership with Pickle Robot, which focuses on AI-powered trailer unloading.

Rabot co-founder and president Channa Ranatunga said: “Our partnership with Ranpak marks a transformative milestone for Rabot.

“By combining our vision AI technology with Ranpak’s extensive global packaging network, we’re positioned to advance the fulfilment industry at an unprecedented scale.

“This collaboration is the result of working closely with the Ranpak team on our shared vision and commitment to innovation. Together we’re setting new standards for efficiency and performance for packaging automation worldwide.”

Ranpak chair and CEO Omar Asali added: “At Ranpak, we are committed to driving innovation in sustainable packaging.

“As companies look for new ways to increase productivity and achieve their sustainability targets, AI-driven solutions like Rabot’s are becoming vital strategic tools.”

Last month, Ranpak Holdings introduced three new automated packaging solutions.
