Packsize launches automated right-sized packaging system

Packsize, a company specialising in on-demand packaging solutions, has unveiled the X6, a new automated right-sized packaging system.

Claimed to be the market’s ‘highest capacity’ machine for erecting boxes, it is capable of producing up to 1,500 flat-bottom boxes per hour from corrugated Z-fold material.

The X6 can manufacture both flap boxes and corrugated trays, allowing for seamless integration with leading delivery and shuttle systems.

By enabling the production of right-sized trays, the X6 facilitates direct picking into shipping containers.

This innovation could potentially eliminate the need for totes, offering improved ergonomics, conveyability, and compatibility with various operator workstations.

Packsize has also equipped the X6 machine with optional box-closing and lidding modules, with an aim to provide a comprehensive solution for fully automated packaging processes.

The international debut of the X6 machine will take place at LogiMAT in Stuttgart, Germany, from 11-13 March 2025.

Following this, the system will be showcased at this year’s ProMat in Chicago, US, from 17-20 March.

Packsize chief revenue officer Brian Reinhart said: “The X6 demonstrates Packsize’s continued commitment to provide greater labour and picking efficiency for faster and more accurate packaging for warehouse orders, accelerating speed and productivity in the supply chain.

“In addition to delivering an industry-leading throughput, the X6 produces a broad range of box sizes, including the capacity to produce boxes small enough to fit through envelope slots.”
