If there was any theme or takeaway to be gleaned from the 2025 edition of Expo West, this was the year of design. Defined by bold bets on radical rebrands, smart revolutions and evolutions, and challenger brands looking to disrupt, the hub for innovative emerging brands didn’t disappoint.

Brands played mix-and-match with color across SKUs, while others fine-tuned their hierarchy for a more straightforward, sharper look. New brands pulled out every trick in the book to stand out, from signature hues and illustration styles to daring gradients and compositional quirks. Design isn’t just about looking good in an increasingly crowded food and beverage landscape—it’s a fight to be seen, remembered, and devoured.
