Helms Workshop’s Design For Cannabis RTD High Five Features A Fun Mascot

Austin Beerworks is a brewery in Texas that has recently entered the hemp beverage space, launching High Five. The alcohol-free drinks contain legal, hemp-derived 5mg each of THC and CBD and are only 19 calories. The low dose and combination of THC and CBD make for drinks that are easy to session and provide an alternative to beers and cocktails containing alcohol.

High Five partnered with their fellow Austinites Helms Workshop for the packaging design.  The cans feature a fun, smiling mascot named “Buddy” in the shape of a hand strutting about with a set of spiral circles for eyes. Available in three fruity flavors—Black Cherry, Lemon Lime, and Blueberry Pomegranate—each label features a color palette inspired by each flavor with an off-white background and black text. Typography is playful and groovy, which works well for a cannabis beverage label.
