Xact Prepack and Termoformas to offer sustainable food packaging solutions

Xact Prepack, a sustainable packaging solutions provider, has entered into a strategic partnership with Termoformas, a manufacturer of plastic packaging, to develop products for food applications.

This collaboration is set to introduce a new line of eco-friendly plastic punnets and trays tailored for the industry.

The new range, which comprises at least 80% recycled content, is part of the companies’ ongoing commitment to deliver green alternatives for their customers.

The new products also ensure exemption from the UK’s plastic tax, a key benefit for businesses.

Manufactured by Termoformas at its facility in Alicante, Spain, the sustainable packaging solutions can be used across a variety of food applications, including fresh produce and meat.

Xact Prepack director Paul Bennion said: “This partnership with Termoformas is part of our ongoing commitment to providing packaging solutions that meet the needs of our customers and the planet.

“With growing concerns about plastic waste and its impact on the environment, coupled with the introduction of the UK plastic tax, businesses are actively seeking sustainable alternatives. Our new solutions address both of these concerns.”

In addition to its standard range, Termoformas provides a tailored service for retailers, allowing them to develop custom packaging solutions to meet their specific requirements.

Termoformas CCO Vicente Senabre said: “This collaboration with Xact Prepack perfectly aligns with Termoformas’ commitment to driving sustainable innovation in the packaging industry.

“These products are a testament to our dedication to developing high-quality, eco-friendly solutions that not only meet the needs of our customers but also contribute to a circular economy.

“We are proud to partner with Xact Prepack to bring our solutions to the UK market and support businesses in their transition to more sustainable packaging.”
