ProAmpac introduces new sustainable moisture-adsorbing solutions

ProAmpac has expanded its ProActive Intelligence platform with a range of moisture-adsorbing films in its Moisture Protect series.

Designed for diverse applications in flexible packaging, the new moisture-adsorbing films are aimed at enhancing product protection while supporting sustainability efforts.

Collaborating with Aptar CSP Technologies, ProAmpac’s new solutions provide tailored moisture protection for a variety of applications.

The partnership integrates Aptar’s 3-Phase Activ-Polymer technology into the film structure. This eliminates the need for traditional desiccant packets, improving packaging efficiency.

Foil-based packaging has long been the industry standard for moisture protection due to its barrier properties.

However, ProAmpac is responding to the increasing demand for more sustainable alternatives with the latest additions to its Moisture Protect series.

The new Moisture Protect offerings include both foil-based and foil-free options. The MP-1000 series remains foil-based while the MP-2000 and MP-3000 series provide foil-free alternatives.

The foil-free MP-2000 series provides customers with more eco-friendly options, whereas the MP-3000 series uses a mono-polyolefin-based structure that is recyclable.

These advancements enable ProAmpac to deliver integrated moisture protection, reduce packaging complexity, and meet growing regulatory and consumer expectations.

The new solutions also help streamline production and extend shelf life, the company said.

ProAmpac active/intelligent packaging senior innovation engineer Samuel Kessler said: “ProAmpac’s Moisture Protect series represents a significant step forward in flexible packaging technology.

“By expanding our offerings, we provide our customers with options that balance high-performance moisture protection with their sustainability objectives.”

Earlier this month, ProAmpac expanded its intellectual property portfolio with several US patents for its ProActive Sustainability line.
