Lecta launches grease-resistant paper for flexible packaging sector

Lecta has rolled out Creaset HGP, a coated paper with grease-resistant properties applied to one side, created specifically for use in flexible packaging for modern consumer requirements.

Due to its grease resistance, the paper is particularly suited for wrapping butter and serving as a laminate in pet food packaging.

According to Lecta, the product is free from per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), making it a safer packaging option.

Creaset HGP is suitable for use with three printing technologies: flexographic, offset, and rotogravure, the company added.

This compatibility supports the creation of packaging with bold, detailed graphic presentation, which enables improved visibility and appeal on retail shelves.

With regards to recyclability, the paper solution earned a 95 out of 100 rating from the Confederation of European Paper Industries (Cepi).

It also received Level A accreditation from Aticelca, reflecting its strong performance in current recycling processes.

These achievements align with the sustainability objectives of environmentally conscious manufacturers.

The production of Creaset HGP also follows internationally recognised standards, including International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14001 for environmental management and ISO 50001 for energy efficiency.

The solution complies with ISO 9001 for quality management, ISO 45001 for workplace health and safety, and FSSC 22000 for food safety. Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification or Forest Stewardship Council C011032 chain of custody certification is available upon request.

Creaset HGP broadens Lecta’s existing portfolio, which also includes the Metalvac GP PFAS-free paper featuring grease-resistant qualities and a metallised finish.

These papers form a complete offering aimed at recyclable flexible packaging applications.

Last month, Lecta launched a barrier paper called Linerset FP to address the increasing demand for sustainable packaging solutions.
