Algus launches paper-folding machine for sustainable packaging

Algus Packaging has launched a custom-built, high-performance paper-folding machine to support its transition to sustainable packaging solutions.

The company says that via this move, it supports Duracell’s shift towards all-paper blister packaging.

Algus’ paper-folding machine forms and seals paper packaging with high structural integrity.

It is a high-speed, precision-engineered system, which ensures an upscale appearance, the company said.

The machine’s ability to create sealed paper corners provides superior product protection, allowing eco-friendly packaging that is also functional.

The machine is reportedly ideal for large-scale manufacturing. Its user-friendly and programmable interface, complete with saved settings and fault detection, ensures a smooth operation.

Additionally, the machine’s versatility extends to supporting secondary package features such as product locators, inserts, radio-frequency identification labels, and more.

Algus’ efforts to combine sustainability with high-performance automation enable brands to adopt paper-based packaging without sacrificing efficiency or quality, it says.

Algus Packaging CEO Rod MacNeille said: “At Algus, we take pride in engineering custom packaging solutions that push the boundaries of the industry.

“Our Custom Paper Folding Machine delivers sustainable packaging that not only protects products, but also enhances their presentation and shelf appeal.”

The company is a member of The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies and utilises its 330,000ft² production facility in DeKalb, US, for fulfilling the packaging requirements of its customers.
