Sonoco to showcase sustainable packaging solutions at Vitafoods Europe 2025

Sonoco Europe is set to make its debut at Vitafoods Europe 2025, where it will present its sustainable packaging solutions.

The event is scheduled to take place in Barcelona, Spain, from 20 to 22 May 2025.

Sonoco will showcase its GREENCAN and EnviroCan rigid paper packaging solutions during the event.

The GREENCAN recyclable paperboard container is made of 92-98% paperboard and offers a wide array of protective properties.

Available in various shapes and sizes, the packaging aims to deliver a flexible and eco-friendly packaging option.

Additionally, GREENCAN incorporates a paper lid, enabling the entire package to be recycled via household paper recycling streams.

On the other hand, Sonoco’s EnviroCan is a paper-based packaging option made from up to 95% fibre.

It provides robust barriers against oxygen and moisture, preserving product freshness and extending shelf life.

By participating in Vitafoods Europe, Sonoco seeks to strengthen its position as a key packaging supplier in the health, nutrition, and supplements industries.

These packaging innovations form part of the company’s wider commitment to supporting the circular economy through recyclable solutions.

Sonoco is working alongside brands in these sectors to demonstrate the practical benefits of its packaging in diverse markets.

Sonoco Europe sales and marketing vice-president Kieren France said: “At Sonoco, we keep abreast of market demands and ensure our packaging solutions meet and support them.

“Currently, consumers are ever more mindful of both their health and the environmental impact of their purchases, and increased uptake in our paper-based packaging reflects this.

“We are looking forward to exhibiting at Vitafoods Europe 2025 for the first time and can’t wait to engage with industry professionals to showcase how our packaging solutions can help them boost their sustainability credentials.”

Last month, Sonoco Products Company announced a price increase for its core board and paperboard in Europe.
