Crown partners with San Juan Bev. Co. for exclusive packaging deal

Aluminium beverage can maker Crown Holdings has formed an exclusive agreement with San Juan Beverage Company (San Juan Bev. Co.) to produce canned versions of the ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktail, BAMMARITA.

The product is available in four varieties, namely Lime, Cadillac, Mango, and Kiwi Strawberry and is packaged in 12oz CrownSleek aluminium cans.

Crown marketing and commercial operations senior manager Bryan Sahadi said: “Crown is thrilled to partner with San Juan Bev. Co. in launching this innovative and exciting new product into the rapidly growing RTD market.

“Our extensive packaging experience and capabilities and state-of-the-art graphic design operations are ideally suited to help achieve both San Juan Bev. Co.’s goals and Kam’s vision, resulting in ultimate speed-to-market to get BAMMARITA in the hands of consumers.”

With 6% alcohol by volume, BAMMARITA was developed through a partnership with Kam Chancellor, a former player for the Seattle Seahawks American football team.

The project’s name is derived from Chancellor’s nickname: ‘Bam Bam Kam’.

This partnership takes Chancellor’s signature cocktails, previously served at his Legion Sports Bar, into a wider market.

West Coast Container is also involved, providing supplementary support to the initiative.

BAMMARITA is created using San Juan’s Island Shine blend and is described as gluten-free.

It is promoted as a lighter alternative to standard margaritas, with added portability.

San Juan Bev. Co. president and CEO Ron Lloyd said: “Rooted in the spirit of the Pacific Northwest, we set out to craft our RTD cocktails with purpose and heart.

“Through our partnership with Kam and his wife, Tiffany, we’ve been able to do all this and more with BAMMARITA – investing back into our Pacific Northwest community by providing consumers flavours they want and an economic boost to local jobs and businesses.

“Crown’s expertise and efficiency, along with a seamless partnership with West Coast Container, were instrumental in turning our joint mission into a reality in just three months.”
