Sonoco Introduces Paper Can, and It Even Has a Paper Bottom

Sonoco Unveils New Paper Can with Paper Bottom in North America

Packaging manufacturer Sonoco has developed a new all-paper tube. And when we say all paper, we mean the bottom, too.

Sonoco’s Paper Can is made from 100% recycled fiber with up to 90% post-consumer material. It is also prequalified for How2Recycle’s “Check Locally” label as it successfully passed recyclability and re-pulpability testing conducted by Western Michigan University.

The North American availability of Sonoco’s Paper Can this year follows its debut in Europe last fall, where Nestle utilized it for coffee products, for which resistance to air and moisture is critical. Sunoco’s Paper Can is widely recyclable in the UK and mainland Europe.
