Pregis® Releases 2024 Sustainability Report

Pregis®, a global leader in protective packaging, mailing and bagging, and flexible packaging solutions, has released its 2024 Sustainability Report, spotlighting the company’s advancements in product sustainability, emissions reduction and stakeholder impact.

The report affirms progress toward its 2K30 goals and reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to the Pregis Purpose: to Protect, Preserve, and Inspyre. In 2024, Pregis made notable progress across multiple areas of its sustainability strategy:

  • 92% of operational waste was diverted from landfill and incineration
  • 52% of total revenue came from sustainable products—defined as paper-based, biobased, or containing ≥30% recycled content
  • Matched the electricity consumption at 6 production facilities with renewable energy
  • 1.38 million trees saved through sustainable material sourcing and innovation
  • 130,397 lives positively impacted through clean water access, disaster relief, and community programs

“In 2024, we made progress that matters. The engine behind this momentum is our people. Their creativity, passion, and persistence power every milestone. In 2024 alone, our teams helped achieve measurable reductions in carbon emissions, diverted more waste from landfills, and scaled production of circular materials—all while continuing to meet the needs of a rapidly evolving market,” said Kevin Baudhuin, Chairman and CEO of Pregis. “As we look toward the future, our focus remains clear: to create sustainable value for our customers, employees, communities and investors.”

Circular Products with Real Impact

In 2024, Pregis continued to scale its sustainable packaging portfolio with the launch of new solutions that reduce reliance on virgin plastics and enhance recyclability. Most notably, the introduction of:

  • AirSpeed® Renew™ 80% PCR options available in Double-cushion and Quilt inflatable cushions
  • Performance Flexibles adds a 50% post-consumer recycled collation shrink film to the flexible packaging lineup
  • Pregis EverTec® curbside recyclable mailing portfolio expands to include variable length mailing Automated Ready Rolls and EverTec Automated Mailer compatible with the Pregis Sharp™ MaxPro series

Operational Progress and Emissions Transparency

The company increased its global landfill diversion rate to 92% and reached 99% waste diversion at its Anderson, South Carolina facility. Six facilities matched their electricity use with renewable energy.

The company once again achieved 2K30 goal to reduce operational emissions intensity by 25% compared to 2019 and received third-party verification across all emissions scopes, further strengthening the credibility and transparency of its environmental reporting.
