Altium Packaging appoints John Mooers as new CEO

Altium Packaging, a US-based producer of rigid plastic containers, has chosen John Mooers as its new president and CEO, with immediate effect.

Mooers takes over from Sean Fallmann, who is stepping down after 11 years leading the company in the same positions.

Fallmann will stay on until year-end to facilitate a seamless handover.

Fallmann said: “We are thrilled to have John leading the Altium team. Our goal was to find a leader with a similar vision not just for the company and industry, but for Altium’s corporate culture.

“Our focus on integrity and community has always been a priority and enables Altium to stand apart from competitors. With John, we found someone with extraordinary strategic and leadership capabilities who equally values and will embrace our culture.”

Since becoming CEO in 2014, Fallmann has reportedly been pivotal in advancing Altium’s development and broadening its reach.

He steered efforts to lessen the company’s ecological footprint, delivered substantial increases in revenue and profits, and managed 15 takeovers, the company said.

Mooers, in his role as the incoming CEO, will direct Altium’s strategic and daily operations, working closely with the senior leadership team.

With deep expertise in the packaging sector, he is set to maintain Altium’s commitment to expansion, operational efficiency, client satisfaction, and innovation.

Mooers joins from Silgan, where he spent over three decades in various senior roles across North America and worldwide.

His most recent position was president of Silgan Closures, following a stint as president of Food and Beverage Europe, based in Austria. Mooers will be headquartered at Altium’s base in Atlanta, US.

Mooers said: “I’m honoured to step into this role at Altium. I look forward to the opportunity and am committed to building on the strong foundation established by Sean, whose leadership helped position Altium as an industry leader.

“The company’s impressive growth reflects not only its dedication to delivering exceptional products, services, and packaging solutions, but also a culture that values innovation, collaboration, and customer success.

“I’m excited to be part of a team that consistently drives excellence across every aspect of the business.”
