Rørosmeieriet launches sustainable packaging for Coop’s Änglamark brand

Rørosmeieriet, a Norwegian organic dairy company, has introduced Elopak’s Natural White Board cartons for Coop’s Änglamark brand.

Developed by Elopak, this new carton packaging solution features a sleek design and is said to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 14%.

The new Pure-Pak carton with Natural White Board achieves this lower carbon footprint through the elimination of clay coating, a reduction in polymers, and more energy-efficient production processes.

Rørosmeieriet commercial leader Kristin Bendixvold said: “When Elopak presented the Natural White Board cartons to us in January 2025, we immediately saw the alignment with the eco-conscious values of the Änglamark brand.

“We integrated the new board into our existing filling lines with ease. This is another Elopak innovation that lets us pass on more sustainability benefits to our customers and their consumers.”

The advancement is seen as a key component of Elopak’s ‘Repackaging tomorrow’ strategy, which aims to spotlight partner achievements alongside emission reduction efforts.

Änglamark’s fresh skimmed organic milk in Pure-Pak Natural White Board cartons is now available in Coop stores throughout Norway, with plans to expand the solution to additional products.

The partnership between Elopak and Rørosmeieriet spans over four decades, with a commitment to environmental stewardship.

Coop Norway own brands product manager Merete Rørvik said: “The new pack fits with our sustainability priorities and is ideal for the Änglamark brand which the Coop founded 20 years ago to help the consumer connect with and choose better environmental options.”
