BGC to sell 26% stake in packaging subsidiary to Swan Industries

Bangkok Glass Container Public Company (BGC), a key player in integrated packaging services under the Bangkok Glass Group, has agreed to divest a 26% stake in its packaging subsidiary.

The Nation reported that the agreement involves BGC selling the stake in BGC Packaging (BGCP) to Swan Industries.

BGCP, which focuses on a wide range of packaging solutions, including plastic and corrugated paper, is expected to significantly enhance its business capabilities through this partnership.

By joining forces with Swan Industries, a company within Thailand’s metal can packaging market, BGC aims to increase its market share and expand its customer base.

The collaboration is anticipated to strengthen Thailand’s packaging industry, enabling it to meet growing market demands and compete sustainably in the region.

The partnership will drive growth for BGC’s integrated packaging business by boosting sales from existing clients, attracting new customers, and supporting expansion into new markets with a broader range of solutions.

With this new partnership, BGC will gain access to Swan Industries’ extensive client network, covering industries such as food and beverages, processed fruits and vegetables, pet food, snacks, consumer goods, and industrial products.

Additionally, the alliance will facilitate knowledge-sharing between BGC’s Technology and Innovation Centre and Swan Industries’ expertise in the food sector, fostering the development of advanced packaging solutions focused on quality, sustainability, environmental impact, and cost-effectiveness.

This strategic move highlights BGC and Swan Industries’ commitment to advancing Thailand’s packaging industry ecosystem.
