Pepsi Drops Its Own ‘Healthy’ Prebiotic Soda

Pepsi Drops Its Own ‘Healthy’ Prebiotic Soda

In May, PepsiCo announced the acquisition of prebiotic soda brand Poppi in a $1.95 billion deal. Given the significant price tag attached to the functional soda, PepsiCo is bullish on the breakthrough, better-for-you, and functional soda category.

Now, PepsiCo is doubling down on the trend Poppi helped blossom by adding prebiotic versions of its cola. Pepsi Prebiotic will be available in Original Cola and Cherry Vanilla and contain 5 grams of prebiotic fiber. Additionally, Pepsi Prebiotic contains no artificial sweeteners, only 30 calories, and real cane sugar, which is sure to please bear-cub-killer and Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and his boss, President Trump.
