Sabert acquires UK sustainable packaging company Colpac

Sabert Corporation Europe has acquired UK-based Colpac, which offers sustainable paperboard packaging solutions.

The acquisition was finalised on 31 July 2025.

Established in 1937 and located in Flitwick, Bedfordshire, Colpac serves customers in the food-to-go foodservice and industrial markets.

The acquisition is expected to enhance Sabert’s position in the sustainable food packaging sector within the UK and other markets.

Colpac managing director Andrew Grimbaldeston said: “Colpac’s team, heritage, and specialist paperboard expertise are a perfect complement to Sabert’s portfolio. Together, we are better equipped to serve customers with a broad, innovative, and sustainable range of food packaging solutions.”

Sabert stated that Colpac’s established capabilities in design and manufacturing align well with its operational goals.

Sabert CEO Paul McCann said: “Today marks an important milestone in our ongoing investment in the UK and our focus on expanding our diverse product portfolio of innovative, sustainable solutions.

“Both companies believe that a culture of sustainability, quality, and high service levels is the foundation of building lasting relationships with our customers.

“Now, as one team, we can accelerate our efforts even further to develop and deliver sustainable, innovative solutions as our customers’ trusted food packaging provider.”

In August 2024, Sabert announced that its Texas, US facility received certification from the Biodegradable Products Institute.

The certification applies to all products made with the company’s moulded Pulp Plus and Pulp Ultra formulations at the Greenville facility, confirming compliance with ASTM standards for compostable products in North America.
