MontClerc acquires minority stake in Polykar

MontClerc Capital has acquired a minority stake in Polykar, a Canadian manufacturer specialising in sustainable flexible packaging solutions.

This strategic investment is intended to enhance Polykar’s growth in the North American market.

The financial backing is expected to enhance Polykar’s production capabilities and expedite the creation of new eco-friendly packaging options in response to increasing market demand.

Polykar specialises in polyethylene (PE) film for converters, as well as various food and industrial packaging products.

The company’s product portfolio also includes recycled waste bags and certified-compostable bags and films.

Polykar president and CEO Amir Karim said: “Over the last 35 years, we have built a resilient company founded on innovation and operational excellence.

“With the support of MontClerc Capital, we are ready to invest in advanced manufacturing technologies and to take part in the consolidation of our industry. This investment underscores confidence in our business model and growth potential.”

MontClerc stated that it contributes operational knowledge and a commitment to long-term investment, focusing on supporting the strategic growth of companies based in Québec.

MontClerc Capital partner Martin Garand said: “Polykar meets all our investment criteria, particularly due to the strength of its leadership team, the quality of its products, and its sound governance.
