Marzek Etiketten+Packaging installs HP Indigo digital press in Austria

European converter Marzek Etiketten+Packaging has installed the HP Indigo 6K+ digital press at its headquarters in Traiskirchen, Austria, for premium label and packaging production.

This move reportedly marks the company as one of the first worldwide, and the first in Austria, to adopt this advanced digital printing technology.

The HP Indigo 6K+ digital press, featuring the new SmartControlSystem, empowers Marzek to meet the increasing customer demands for rapid customisation and shorter lead times.

The press’ enhanced productivity, operation, and versatility allow for quicker setup, consistent quality across repeat jobs, and faster substrate changeovers, reducing turnaround times.

HP PrintOS complements the HP Indigo 6K+ press’ capabilities, acting as a connected production control centre.

Marzek utilises the PrintOS app to remotely monitor production, analyse real-time performance data, and generate detailed reports.

Marzek Etiketten+Packaging Group CEO Johannes Michael Wareka said: “We know that HP Indigo’s quality is simply unmatched, but it’s the combination of productivity, reliability, and uninterrupted production that truly sets the HP Indigo 6K+ apart.

“It sets us up to achieve things we couldn’t have imagined with conventional print, and we are better positioned than ever to deliver craft quality on an industrial scale.

“It’s about more than increasing efficiency. It’s about unlocking new creative dimensions and staying ahead of what the market expects from packaging today while maintaining consistently high quality, seamless availability, and uncompromising reliability.”

As the market trends towards shorter runs and personalised packaging, Marzek is scaling sustainably by minimising waste, enhancing efficiency, and employing intelligent production planning tools such as vendor-managed inventory and HP PrintOS.

For over 15 years, Marzek has been in the sector of digital printing technology, beginning its journey with the first European deployment of the HP Indigo WS6000 press in 2009.
