Back Channel Brewing Wants More Inclusivity at Breweries. That’s Where THC Beverages Come In

The craft beer scene has seen its challenges over the last few years. With more people turning to non-alcoholic drinks and focusing on wellness, alcohol consumption has declined, and it’s been up to these craft beer brands to get creative with their offerings.

Back Channel Brewing, a brewery and taproom located on Lake Minnetonka in Minnesota, is one of these brands doing just that. Known for its small-batch beers, specifically its Lagers, IPAs, and Imperial Stouts, Back Channel is also known for its THC beverages, including the latest in the line-up, CocoFlow, which is not a beer of any kind, but instead a cannabis-infused coconut water.

The company’s first THC beverage was created in January 2023, not long after Minnesota passed a law clarifying the ability to sell hemp-derived products in 2022. The THC seltzer, Green Party, featured tangerine, prickly pear, and dragonfruit, and it put Back Channel on the map for one-of-a-kind THC products.
