Based on the established Millad platform, ClearX 9000 achieves ultra-clear PP at more efficient loading levels, reducing the amount of clarifying additive required.

It is also reported to lower extraction and migration rates in PP packaging and parts — important for food-contact and medical products.

The technology offers improved processing compatibility compared to prior generations, enhancing operational efficiency.

It also removes the requirement to segregate virgin and PCR resin streams, allowing more compositional flexibility.

ClearX 9000 holds broad US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) conditions-of-use approval (A–J), enabling use across a wide range of food-contact applications.

Enhanced additive compatibility reduces downtime, waste and changeover times for resin producers and converters.

It also works with other Millad clarifiers, helping producers optimise formulations for both virgin and post-consumer recycled (PCR) PP and support sustainability goals.

Milliken global product line manager of plastic additives business Bhavesh Gandhi stated: “Our team developed Millad ClearX™ 9000 to address the growing need for clarity and efficiency in polypropylene applications.

“By reducing additive loading and migration rates, we’re helping our customers create products that are not only visually appealing but also meet the highest standards for food and medical use.”

In September 2025, energy investment and development company OQ collaborated with Milliken to launch Luban RP2251T, a new clarified random copolymer for injection moulding applications.
