CSI launches Asepti-Lok 47 closure for aseptic beverage packaging

Closure Systems International (CSI) has introduced the Asepti-Lok 47 38mm closure, designed for aseptically filled beverages.

The closure is intended for PET non-returnable bottles with the 1874 finish, featuring a lightweight, one-piece, linerless construction with advanced sealing technology.

The offering is suitable for juices, nectars, sports drinks and liquid dairy products.

The Asepti-Lok 47 uses a three-point sealing system covering the outside, top and inside of the closure to maintain product protection.

Weighing 2.9g, it includes a tamper-evident band, supporting both wet and dry sterilisation methods.

Its “smart venting” feature provides early pressure release and prevents blow-off.

The closure is compatible with existing aseptic bottling lines.

Its lube-free design reduces maintenance requirements, while the seal technology and resin material prevent finish distortion and ensure hermetic sealing.

The closure also provides consistent removal torque to improve production reliability.

The closure is designed for consumer usability with a non-slip grip and secure resealing to help preserve product freshness.

CSI global director Clint Rush stated: “The Asepti-Lok 47 38mm closure demonstrates CSI’s commitment to delivering innovative closure solutions that meet the highest standards of aseptic beverage packaging.

“This closure ensures superior product integrity while driving operational efficiency for our customers.”

The Asepti-Lok 47 38mm closure is commercially available for brand owners requiring packaging for aseptically filled beverages.

In early 2025, CSI launched Defender-Lok, a new child-resistant closure (CRC) platform.

Defender-Lok is specifically tailored for use in the over-the-counter and nutraceutical sectors.
