Nexam Chemical announces initial orders for IV enhancers in rPET sheets

Nexam Chemical, a company focusing on high-performance additives for plastics, has announced the receipt of initial orders for its intrinsic viscosity (IV) enhancers in recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET) sheets.

The orders were secured from companies based in key global markets, including Pakistan, the US, Australia, and various South American regions.

The company’s advanced IV enhancers are crucial in enhancing the performance and quality of rPET sheets, which are used in a wide array of applications such as packaging.

By improving IV, Nexam Chemical ensures that rPET sheets have superior mechanical properties, durability, and clarity, fulfilling the demands of various industries.

In Pakistan, the company has signed a new local agreement for its IV enhancers.

In the US, the enhancers are being used specifically for PET foamed sheets to replace polystyrene foam in food packaging, responding to the increasing demand for sustainable packaging solutions.

In addition, companies in Australia are turning to Nexam’s IV enhancers to improve the quality of recycled materials, with the first commercial-scale orders anticipated shortly.

Businesses in Mexico and South America are also adopting these advanced solutions to improve their rPET sheets to international standards and performance requirements, with a channel sales agreement expected to drive commercial volumes.

With growing interest from international companies, Nexam is set to expand its market presence and further support the global transition towards sustainable materials.

Nexam Chemical business manager Henrik Bernquist said: “We are thrilled to see such positive initial traction across diverse global markets. Our IV enhancers are proving to be an important part of the toolbox for the rPET industry, enabling companies to produce high-quality recycled products that meet the demands of today’s environmentally conscious consumers.

“This marks a significant step forward in our mission to contribute to a more sustainable world.”

In March this year, Nexam Chemical announced the scientific validation of its Reactive Recycling additives, marking a significant advancement in the recycling of polypropylene.
