Averra Packaging Announces Clean Room Expansion at Salt Lake City Facility

Averra Packaging has taken a major step forward in its support of the medical technology industry with the completion of a substantial clean room expansion at its Salt Lake City thermoforming facility. The project, now officially finished, doubles the company’s available clean room square footage, a milestone that highlights both rapid customer demand and Averra’s continued commitment to world-class manufacturing standards.

The newly added space has already achieved ISO Class 8 certification, matching the cleanliness and particulate control of Averra’s existing clean manufacturing environment. With this certification in hand, the expanded clean room is ready to support the production of critical medical packaging and components that require impeccable precision and reliability.

A Direct Response to Growth and Customer Needs

“We are thrilled to complete the expansion of our clean manufacturing area,” said Jeremy Horton, CEO of Averra Packaging. “This project is a reflection of the growth in our medical thermoforming business, as well as a demonstration of our commitment to continue providing world-class service to the medical technology industry. The increased capacity, redundancy, and greater flexibility provided by this clean room expansion will be immediately noticeable to our customers while also keeping Averra in the perfect position to grow alongside the industry.”

This expansion isn’t merely about square footage, it’s about capability, resilience, and readiness. As medical device companies continue to innovate, they depend on packaging partners who can maintain tight tolerances, meet rising demand, and ensure flawless quality. Averra’s enhanced clean room footprint positions the company to scale with confidence.

Powered by New State-of-the-Art Thermoforming Technology

At the heart of the expanded clean room is a new inline medical thermoforming machine, engineered to deliver high-precision results and support stringent quality expectations. This additional line provides:

  • Increased production capacity
  • Operational redundancy for improved reliability
  • Enhanced precision and tolerance control
  • Greater flexibility for complex or custom medical parts

These upgrades reinforce Averra’s ability to meet the evolving demands of medical device manufacturers—whether for new product introductions or expanding product volumes.

Official Launch Set for November 24, 2025

With construction and certification complete, the new cleanroom will officially enter service on November 24, 2025, marking the beginning of a new chapter in Averra’s thermoforming capabilities.
