Saica Group unveils new fresh produce packaging solution

Saica Group, a leading European paper, packaging, and recycling company, has announced the launch of Saica Fresh, a new end-to-end packaging solution designed specifically for the fresh produce market.

The offering will be showcased at Fruit Attraction, the world’s leading trade fair for the fruit and vegetable industry, taking place in Madrid, Spain, from 8-10 October 2024.

The company said Saica Fresh comprises a comprehensive suite of packaging solutions that aims to help customers protect their fresh produce brands, reduce food waste, and contribute to a more circular economy.

The solution is built upon five pillars: food science, comprehensive solutions, products, research and development (R&D), and sustainability.

By combining the expertise of Saica Pack and Saica Flex, Saica Fresh offers a unified approach to packaging that addresses the entire customer value chain.

From the initial packaging design to the final product on the shelf, Saica’s R&D teams ensure that customers are using the most appropriate and sustainable packaging materials.

This not only improves packaging efficiency and reduces costs but also helps to extend the shelf life of fresh produce.

The company’s commitment to sustainability is reflected in its use of eco-friendly materials and its focus on reducing waste.

“By offering a fully integrated packaging solution, we not only help our customers optimise their packaging processes, but also enable them to reduce food waste and extend the time their products stay fresh,” said Miguel Ángel Martínez, commercial and marketing director of Saica Pack.

“Saica Fresh embodies our dedication to sustainability, innovation and our commitment to adding value to the entire supply chain.”

Francisco Barrera, sales and marketing director of Saica Flex, added: “This unified approach allows us to offer our customers sustainable, cutting-edge packaging technologies that respond to the changing needs of the fresh produce market.”

The aforementioned Fruit Attraction is a global event that attracts more than 2,000 companies from 135 countries.
