Stout Turns Neighborhood Pizza Shop Nostalgia Into a Gift

Stout Turns Neighborhood Pizza Shop Nostalgia Into a Gift

Unlike polished seasonal gift kits, this design opts for intentional excess and cultural shorthand. Stout’s holiday collaboration with Chicago’s Bon Vivant Cakes channels neighborhood pizza shop nostalgia through  graphic design.

Bold slab typography and loose hand-drawn lettering mirror takeout menus and grease-stained boxes, while checkerboard borders and starbursts pull from mid century Americana. The result feels referential without parody, using familiar cues with uncommon confidence. It’s an interactive, edible gift. What more could you ask for?
