Coveris designs new packaging for Rowse’s Manuka Honey Range


Rowse Honey has rolled out new packaging for its Manuka Honey range, working in partnership with Coveris.

Now available across both jar and squeezy formats, the updated design centres on a revised visual style featuring textured, uncoated labels and coloured hot foils to distinguish between different product types.

The changes include new materials and label technology.

Each product variant in the Manuka range, including the 500+ MGO option, uses a unique foil colour to help customers identify each offering more easily.

The packaging update does not alter the primary containers but instead introduces the revised labelling designed by The Space Creative and brought into production by Coveris, with Aire Global also involved.

Development of the new labels involved nine months of testing. This process focused on techniques such as double hot foil stamping, tactile finishes, and metallic detailing.

Coveris’ printing technology was used to achieve precision in print quality and colour accuracy.

Additional security features have been incorporated, with SourceTag RF technology now present on back labels to support retail security measures.

On the sustainability front, Rowse Honey has continued its partnership with Coveris’ ReCover Paper facility for recycling self-adhesive label waste.

Over the last year, this initiative has seen 42kg of release liners recycled, which the company states avoided around nine tonnes of CO₂ emissions in comparison to landfill disposal.

This was achieved under the RafCycle scheme run by UPM Adhesive Materials.

The development is part of an ongoing collaboration between Rows Honey and Coveris, which spans more than 20 years.

Last November, Coveris established a new centre of excellence for wicketted bag production at its Hartlepool facility in north-east England, expanding capacity for manufacturing lightweight, recyclable packaging across multiple industries.
