The upgrades are expected to enhance the properties of the plant’s output, particularly for food packaging applications that require improved surface finish and printing.

Operational since 1972, the Kingsey Falls facility serves industrial and food packaging markets and currently employs 68 people.

Cascades CEO and president Hugues Simon said: “This project will enable us to increase our capacity and remain a valued partner for our customers.

“It underscores our unwavering commitment to investing in our assets in Quebec to accelerate our growth. I’d like to thank the employees who helped install this equipment. Their expertise and dedication have made this project a resounding success.”

Cascades reported net earnings of C$37m for Q4 2025, reversing a C$13m net loss in the same quarter of the prior year. Sales stood at C$1.19bn, slightly lower than the C$1.21bn reported a quarter earlier.

Operating income for the quarter was C$76m, up from C$16m recorded in Q4 2024, while adjusted EBITDA increased to C$155m.

Since January 2025, operations have been structured around two main segments: packaging products and tissue papers.

Cascades operates 60 facilities across North America and employs approximately 9,000 people.
