With 25 facilities and 3,500 employees, TCP’s services include extrusion, printing, lamination, converting, and recycling.

The company supplies packaging to various industries such as agriculture, beverages, dairy, meat, and pet food.

TC Transcontinental board executive chair Isabelle Marcoux said: “The closing of the sale of our Packaging business represents a key milestone for TC Transcontinental.

“I want to thank all our packaging employees for their dedication and engagement in building this business over more than a decade. This transaction will allow us to focus our resources on our retail services and printing and educational publishing activities.”

ProAmpac indicated that the acquisition combines TCP’s manufacturing network and technical strengths with its own focus on material science and sustainability.

The move is intended to support the development of new packaging solutions, including barrier films, mono-material structures, and fibre-based formats.

The addition of TCP’s protein packaging operations gives ProAmpac increased technical resources and a broader presence in the global market.

ProAmpac founder, vice-chairman and CEO Greg Tucker said: “Today marks an exciting new chapter for ProAmpac, and we are proud to welcome TCP as an official member of the ProAmpac family.

“As we integrate TCP’s advanced packaging technologies and talented team into our operations, we are combining complementary strengths to accelerate the delivery of high-performance, increasingly sustainable packaging solutions and further position ProAmpac as a preferred packaging partner worldwide.”
