Xaar and Polipress advance digital embellishments for Italian wine labels

Xaar and Polipress International have collaborated to deliver digital embellishment technology in Italy’s premium label market, with particular traction among wine label producers.

More than 20 Xaar Versatex printbars have been installed nationwide through this partnership. These systems are now operating at multiple stages in the label production process, supporting both printing and converting tasks.

The Versatex printbar enables the application of varnish and cold foil embellishments within a single unit, using one type of fluid.

It is designed in both left-to-right and right-to-left variants, which allows it to fit into varied digital workflows.

The printbar is also compatible with Nilpeter and HP Indigo label presses, as well as ABG finishing lines.

Xaar Versatex product manager Tom Mooney said: “Polipress’s success in the Italian wine label market is a testament to the power of partnership and innovation.

“Versatex enables converters to deliver stunning embellishments such as high-opacity whites, tactile varnishes, and cold foiling with precision and speed, helping brands stand out on the shelf.”

By working together, Xaar and Polipress are providing Italian label converters with new tools to address evolving requirements in the luxury packaging sector, the company said in a statement.

Polipress’ international sales manager Angelo Tribocco said: “Together with Xaar, we have introduced a technology that quickly proved to be a real game changer.

“From the very first installations, our customers immediately recognised the value: the ability to unlock new levels of creativity while achieving an efficiency and cost performance that traditional analogue solutions simply cannot reach.”
