Domino Printing Sciences has introduced its Ux360i UV laser coder, adding a new high-speed coding system for manufacturers working with sensitive and recyclable packaging materials.
The solution is intended for sectors such as food, pharmaceuticals and life sciences, where producers and converters are under pressure to place durable and legible codes on mono-plastics and thin films as packaging formats change.

The Ux360i has been developed for more demanding coding applications, including GS1-compliant 2D codes used for traceability, serialisation and variable data.
Domino said the system combines a new high-speed scan head with revised coding algorithms, allowing QR code marking at speeds up to 80% higher than its earlier UV model while maintaining readability.
The coder has been designed to connect with factory production environments and includes a web-based interface linked to Domino’s x generation platform, with access available through standard browsers or an optional touchscreen human-machine interface.
For regulated markets, the Ux360i is designed to align with standards such as EU GMP Annex 11 and FDA 21 CFR Part 11.
As a GS1 Solutions Partner, Domino also works with manufacturers on 2D coding requirements linked to traceability and regulation.
The Ux360i is available as part of a broader variable data printing package from Domino, which includes application testing, automation software, fume extraction, laser guarding, remote monitoring, and system design.
Domino UV lasers product manager Christina Mallin said: “The Ux360i has been designed to help manufacturers move faster, code more reliably, and adapt to new packaging materials, such as mono-plastics and thin films, with confidence.
“It brings together high‑speed performance, integration flexibility, and the coding quality needed for today’s traceability and sustainability requirements.”
