Rum is one of the oldest distilled spirits in the world, with records of production in the Caribbean dating back to the 1620s. But Fortín’s label, designed by Oveja & Remi Studio, brings the spirit to modern day while still honoring that rich history.
Each label is a densely layered botanical scene set in the sugar cane fields of Paraguay, with howler monkeys peering through bamboo and tropical birds perched among the cane stalks. The color system shifts across the different products, giving the botanicals a different atmospheric quality without ever breaking the visual coherence of the range. Fortín’s label feels like it was commissioned by a naturalist who also happened to make extraordinary rum.
