Five Star Holding expands ISCC PLUS certifications for enhanced PE recycling

Five Star Holding, a leading provider of sustainable packaging solutions, has announced the expansion of its International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) PLUS certifications to include polyethylene (PE) recycling across its operations.

The company’s Polytex Fibers division has extended its existing polypropylene certification to encompass certified-circular PE materials while its StarPak facility in Houston, US, has secured ISCC PLUS certification for PE processing.

These advancements mark a significant step forward in Five Star’s commitment to circular economy principles and the integration of recycled resins into its packaging solutions.

Polytex provides a comprehensive range of commercial packaging solutions using single-material, high-recycled-content plastics, as well as custom options with in-house biofilm technology.

In October 2023, Five Star Holding announced that Polytex Fibers had attained the ISCC PLUS certification at its Houston facility.

ISCC PLUS is a globally recognised certification system that ensures the traceability and sustainability of recycled materials throughout the supply chain.
